Join us at the Carrs for this months work party! We will be controlling the non-native invasive species Himalayan Balsam and litter picking.

This work party will run from 10am-12:30pm and we will be meeting at Twinnies Bridge Car Park (what3words: ///ties.email.wiped).

Bring your own work gloves if you have them and please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. Long sleeves are recommended to avoid nettle stings!

Lindow Common

Join us at the beautiful Lindow Common Local Nature Reserve in Wilmslow for a practical work party!

We will be working in partnership with the Bollin Valley Partnership Rangers at Lindow Common to remove self-seeded birch from the SSSI designated heathland habitat.

This work party will run from 10am-3pm and we will be meeting at Lindow Common Car Park.

Bring lunch and your own work gloves if you have them, and please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. Long trousers and sleeves are recommended!

Rossmill Lane

Join us at Rossmill Woodland for a practical conservation work party!

Rossmill is a 17 acre site principally composed of Semi Natural Ancient Woodland on the sloping Northern bank of the River Bollin below Hale Barns. Rossmill Woodland was the first site managed by the Bollin Valley Partnership. Two areas of grassland within the wood are managed as wildflower meadows, with the grass being cut and removed in late summer or early autumn to stop the grasses becoming too dominant over the flowers.

We will be working in partnership with the Bollin Valley Partnership Rangers at Rossmill Woodland to manage the wildflower meadows.

This work party will run from 10am-3pm and we will be meeting at the entrance to Rossmill lane.

Macclesfield Riverside Park

Help clean up the River Bollin!

Join us for a river clean up, organised by Prestbury and Macclesfield Methodist Churches in conjunction with the Bollin Valley Partnership, as part of Festival Manchester’s Love Where U Live project.

Bring wellies and join in for as little or as long as you want! All welcome, ages 14 or over.

The meeting place will be at the Riverside Park ranger station.

Bring your own work or gardening gloves if you have them and please wear suitable outdoor clothing e.g. waterproofs, warm layers, sun protection, and sturdy footwear. Participants are advised to wear long sleeves to avoid stings, scratches and bites. Please also bring plenty of water and snacks to keep you going throughout the activity.

There is a toilet block and free parking at Riverside Park.

Macclesfield Riverside Park

Join us at Riverside Park in Macclesfield to help us tackle Rhododendron, a non-native invasive species!

We will be working in partnership with the Bollin Valley Partnership Rangers at Riverside Park, Macclesfield to remove the non-native invasive species Rhododendron. Rhododendron can grow to 5 meters tall and forms dense thickets, shading out native plants, preventing regeneration of trees in woods and supressing ground vegetation. It is poisonous to livestock and cannot be controlled by grazing. It is host to the disease organisms Phytophthora ramorum and P. kernoviae, which attack oak and beech.

This work party will run from 9:30am-3pm and we will be meeting at the ranger station in the car park.
